Welcome to WA-ACTE.org, the website owned and produced by the Washington Association for Career and Technical Education (WA-ACTE). WA-ACTE is the leading state professional membership association for career and technical educators and administrators. Our website is available to all visitors, although some content and features may be restricted to WA-ACTE members.

WA-ACTE is providing information and services on this website as a benefit and service to members and potential members. The information and other contents of this website are provided as is and WA-ACTE makes no representations or warranties about the suitability, reliability, or accuracy of the same for any use or purpose.
Privacy Policy Throughout WA-ACTE.org, there are forms for visitors and members to register for conferences, join the association, and request information and services. These forms may ask for contact information (personal and professional), such as your name, home and work addresses, home and work phone numbers, email addresses, or demographic information such as your location or career discipline (affiliated section). Contact information from these forms is used to provide services requested.
Personally identifiable information consists of home address, home phone number, and home email address. You may opt-out of sharing of personally identifiable information with other than national ACTE and WA-ACTE's affiliated sections by contacting WA-ACTE.
All products and services on WA-ACTE.org are made available subject to this privacy statement. By using the products and services, you agree, without limitation or qualification, to be bound by this privacy statement.
WA-ACTE will update this policy from time to time, so please check back periodically. If at any point WA-ACTE decides to use personally identifiable information in a manner different from that stated at the time it was collected, we would post such changes prior to implementation.
Information Collected:
WA-ACTE does not gather anonymous user information such as: IP address, browser, and platform type (e.g., a Netscape browser on a Windows platform).
WA-ACTE collects personally identifiable information from three categories:
* Members of the Association
* Individuals registering for conferences/workshops
* Individuals purchasing materials
WA-ACTE collects information in the following ways:
WA-ACTE Membership Application: when you join or renew your WA-ACTE membership, you are sharing personally identifiable information. Conference/Workshop Registrations: you may be asked for personally identifiable information when registering for specific services, to receive an email newsletter, to receive informational emails, to participate in a listserv, or to subscribe to a publication.
The number and variety of useful services that may require collection of personally identifiable information will continue to grow in the future.
Does WA-ACTE use cookies?
WA-ACTE does not use cookies, a small test file containing a unique identification number that is transferred from a website to the hard drive of your computer. This unique number identifies your web browser, but not you.
Use of the collected information
WA-ACTE collects information to provide you with the services you request. We use the personally identifiable information collected to send you publications, including email, information about member benefits, and conference/workshop information and registration forms.
Personally identifiable information will be shared with WA-ACTE board of directors, affiliated sections, WA-ACTE membership team, and national ACTE. You may opt out of sharing personally identifiable information to any others than those listed above by contacting WA-ACTE. In that event only work address, work phone number, and work email will be shared.
WA-ACTE may be required by law enforcement or judicial authorities to provide information on individuals to the appropriate government authorities. In matters involving a danger to personal or public safety, WA-ACTE may voluntarily provide information to the appropriate authorities.
WA-ACTE reserves the right to send electronic mail to you for the purpose of informing you of important information.
WA-ACTE does not sell membership lists. Conference exhibitors have access to conference participant's non-personal information.
Protect Yourself!
The opportunity to network in an online community (chat room, message board, etc.) is one of the good things about the Internet, but you should always be careful about disclosing personal information such as name, address, phone, email address, etc. This information may be collected and used by others within the online community to send unsolicited email messages.
Educate yourself. Search the Web for as much information as you can about how to protect your privacy. Look for a privacy policy on the websites you visit.
