Silent Auction

Monday, August 7

Bid Sheet

  • Each Board member and section is being asked to contribute one or more items to the annual silent auction.  An individual item or “gift basket” is suggested.
  • Seek donations from faculty, community members, business organizations, Steering Committee members, etc.
  • Be creative…in the past we have auctioned pottery, photographs, books, wine, chocolates, weekend retreats, theater tickets, sporting event tickets, gift cards, photo albums, fragrances, jewelry, yard art, etc.
  • You will need to complete a bid sheet for each item you are contributing.  At the top of the sheet, please write in a description about your item(s), and indicate which person or organization has contributed the item.  If you feel your item requires a minimum bid, please indicate the amount.
  • You are responsible for bringing your donated item(s) and printed bid sheet(s) to the conference.
  • The location for dropping off auction items and completed bid sheet forms is usually at the conference registration area.
  • Money collected from auctioned items will be used to fund the Washington CTE Foundation awards and scholarship efforts.
  • Come prepared to spend money at the auction!

News Release

WA-ACTE Involves Itself in Community Service Project at Summer Conference

Olympia WA – March 9, 2017 – While it’s still months away, we need to get the word out that WA-ACTE is coordinating a “Backpacks for Kids” drive with the Salvation Army of Spokane.  The goal is to make sure every child in the Spokane area is prepared for their first day of school.

There are families in Spokane who have a hard time putting food on the table, so when it's time for their kids to head back to class, those small expenses add up fast.

"For many children having a brand-new backpack, with the necessary school supplies is essential to feeling good about that first day of school.  We want them to feel good about being in the classroom and getting a good education.  WA-ACTE members can help children do just that," Kevin Plambeck, WA-ACTE President Elect said.

Backpacks and school supplies can be brought to the Davenport Grand Hotel during the WA-ACTE Summer Conference, August 6-9, 2017.  There will be a drop-off location in the hotel near the registration area.

Are you traveling to Spokane for the WA-ACTE Summer Conference 2017 and don’t want to carry the backpack or haul the school supplies?  Then go to your local Office Depot, Fred Meyer, or Staples and get a gift card.  If you want to simply make a financial donation to the backpack drive, you can do that at the WA-ACTE Registration counter.

School supplies that are needed are: backpacks, compasses, protractors, calculators, notebooks (college & wide ruled), hand sanitizer, flash drives, Kleenex, dividers, pencil boxes & bags, glue sticks & bottles, rulers, erasers, markers, pens, pencils, crayons, scissors, filler paper (college & wide ruled), colored pencils, 3-ring binders (2 inch), and folders.
